It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Some will argue the reasoning behind final game tension. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this innings came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it's been a challenging time because I feel like I lacked timing completely," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive nature take over and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there the batsman was in motion.

"The possibility to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself that way, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was removed the team required another 66 at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the final thing competing nations at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

Yet even as she later admitted those injuries have delayed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as captain.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
