🔗 Share this article Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care. Details of the Serious Charges The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021. One deputy chief CPS official said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.” The Police Inquiry The charges come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley. Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January. Breakdown of Offences The charging documents said the 45 charges include: 15 counts of sexual assault. Seventeen counts of penetrative assault. Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen. One count of attempted penetrative assault.
