Fresh Information Surface About the Finding of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies

Fresh particulars have surfaced about the untimely demises of renowned film director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

A Initial Report

A source indicates quoting a family associate, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the residence. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

After gaining access to the house, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had gone with her then dialed 911. Subsequently, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is now in custody and is ineligible for bail.

Correcting the Record

The confidential informant also disputed several previously reported details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

Furthermore pushed back against widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation applies to reports of alleged "unstable" conduct by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. Although the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

As stated by law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts noted the condition of their bodies implied they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the family home. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until Wednesday or later.
