The Red Devils' women's team has made a major signing by acquiring German national team forward Lea Schuller from the Bundesliga champions.

The experienced forward, who has signed a deal running until June 2029, becomes the team's second signing of the January transfer window, following the arrival of defender Hanna Lundkvist.

A Proven Goalscorer

The player enjoyed five years at Bayern Munich, featuring in more than 100 games and playing a key role in the team secure multiple Bundesliga championships.

On the international stage, her record is equally impressive, having scored 54 strikes in 82 appearances for the German national team.

"From the first conversations I held with manager Marc Skinner and the club, the aspirations of everyone here were extremely evident," stated Schuller.

She featured in the team that were beaten finalists to England at Euro 2022 and later won a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Ideal Move

"I still have a lot that I aim to achieve in my career, and I know that this club is the ideal place for me," Schuller continued.

"I feel that the team's style of football will be a great fit for my style of play. I hope my attributes and know-how can help us to reach our aims both in England and in the European competition."

Matt Johnson, Man Utd's head of women's football, said: "Her scoring prowess is exceptional, her style of play will give our forward line an exciting new edge.

"Her champion's mindset and experience will be invaluable for our young and ambitious team as we continue to grow together and compete across both domestic and continental competitions."

Building for the Future

The club are aiming to be active in the transfer window as manager Marc Skinner looks to bolster his squad for the latter stages of the Women's Champions League.

The club has also secured a new deal with key playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, who has agreed until the summer of 2029.
