đź”— Share this article The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Chose the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Song The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series from Critical Role, revealed a new opening credits. It showcases our favorite group of outcasts, misfits, and criminals fighting hard and taking names, while also hinting at several heart-wrenching personal histories for characters such as Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and another actor's orc warlock, the character Fjord. All in all, the opening looks amazing. However, I felt that something was lost in the music selection. This sequence uses "Welcome to Wildemount", a truly stellar composition composed by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. This piece originating from the official score of the same name, the second release released by the production company's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a great sentimental option, and I believe that devotees of the second campaign will love its inclusion. Personally, The series' opening doesn't quite capture the hype and excitement that was part of the second campaign's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", written by musician Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit for me when it was initially unveiled in 2015, and it only got better when co-founder Sam Riegel wrote words to the melody for the series' animated intro in the later year. Including singing from one actress, Laura Bailey, a co-star, as well as the writer, the song was catchy and fun. At the time, I hadn't even watched the second campaign at that point, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my device. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an installment of fantasy hijinks. The Mighty Nein's intro with "the new song" fails to hit the same chords in my opinion. It's a grand composition, but from what I know of this party, I can't help but feel that its tone is a little off. Of course, Critical Role has stated that the series will have a few surprises and differences from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its intro seems to be among these. This animated adventure will be available to watch on the streaming service from November 19. If you can't wait until then, or wish to prepare to get to know the personas of the second series, the original episodes are available on Spotify and the video site.
